The house my parents bought was sold to them by the son of the original owner and builder. It was a 3 story house with the bottom being our house, the second floor being a rented apartment and the top being a attic. According to our neighbors who had lived there since the 20's to the 40's the original owner rented the apartment to a lady named Mrs. Pruitt     and she reportedly died there. I was never comfortable upstairs and always felt that I was not alone there. Not a feeling that I would be harmed but not alone. Numerous times I would hear strange sounds like some was walking or shutting doors upstairs when no one was living there. My parents said it was the contraction between being hot and cooling down. I wasn't old enough to know to ask any of the renters if they experienced the same, but no one stayed there in the apartment for long. After the mortgage was paid the upstairs ceased to be rented.
