I must say that when we reached the spot on the tracks where we had last seen it we got creeped out wondering if it might suddenly come on right in front of us. It didn't. However as we continued to walk down the tracks it again reappeared some 300 feet behind us and literally followed us down the tracks.
Again it was so bright it lit up the shirts of my friends walking in front of me. I can only say that it appeared as if it was intelligent. I did see it again
one other time at the same railroad crossing.|
I can only report it was not swamp gas as there were only corn fields nearby. I did see a similar
light in Joplin Missouri along a dirt road. We tried to run it down with our car but it hopped off the road and into a nearby field.|
Again it's actions seemed intelligent. The Joplin light even has it's own corner in the Joplin county museum. Weird but true.

My grandmother had told me many times that she and her friends used to go to West Point to see the light on the railroad tracks. This would have been around 1910. As a teenager in the late sixties / early seventies I went with friends and saw the light many times.
