in paranormal activity. We were just not expecting anything so intense to happen that night when we left for our adventures. We had planned to go to five or six places that night. That being our first stop, needless to say, we did not go anywhere else.

I was visiting a friend in Richmond when he began telling me about a phenomenon he called ''the West Point Light''. I challenged him to take me there at once, so I could be sure that nothing could be set up. It took over an hour, since West Point is over fifty miles from Richmond. We ate dinner in town, and then at dusk we drove out to the tracks which he said were only used during the day to move items related to the wood or paper industry. It was an old road that dipped low to meet the tracks. We finally arrived on the rail bed and actually parked the car in the middle.
It only took fifteen minutes when one of us first noted the light. It seemed to come out of a mist, about three to four feet from the track bed, about 100-150 feet up the track. The light seemed to have a bluish tint (like a mercury vapor lamp) and rose in intensity and moved slightly. The light was bright enough to reflect off the rails. There was heat lightning in the distance, which served to light up the area briefly so I could definitely verify there were no people holding the light on the tracks. The light kept moving as we walked toward it, and then it actually switched sides and appeared on the opposite side of the parked automobile.
John and I watched the light for fifteen to twenty minutes until our wives put up such a complaint that we had to move out and return to Richmond. I shall never forget this incident. For the first time in my life, I saw a phenomenon with no apparent explanation. John told me that he had known about this for years and had come to the tracks as kids, armed with shotguns, to shoot at the light. This was a cowboy version of Virginia, and I had no doubts about what John said after witnessing this event.

Back 1974 or 1975 after working at Farm Fresh on Oyster Point ED in NN, we got off around 11:30 p.m. Four of us planned my 3rd trip (everyone's else's first trip) to the railroad tracks in West Point. I never heard it or saw anything on my previous 2 trips. This was fall. We parked along the tracks and walked down about 200 to 300 yards. We sat down and all drank some beers. There were 2 girls and guys.
