East Lynn, West Virginia Ghost Tales

I have had several ghostly exps. In East Lynn, West Virginia. The 1st. One happened in the late 80s when we rented a 100 yr. Old house on a hill above the Mid Town store. This house has since burned down. We would see cat like apparition . At first we thought it to be a real animal but it did not quite look like a cat and it floated low to the ground instead of walking. If you tried to follow it it would disappear. It seemed harmless and both my then husband and I saw them. One day I was sitting in a big chair with our 3 yr. Old son, reading him a story. The cat like thing just appeared in the middle of the living room and floated toward us. My son saw it and yelled, ''A doggy ''!! He called all small animals dogs at that time. It went past us and entered the kitchen, vanishing just inside the kitchen door.

We moved a few times after that and rented a house on Beech Fork RD. Off of a preacher. Nothing happened for a long time, then one day our 3rd child who was a little over 2 yrs old, was playing on the LR floor. He looked up at the

staircase, pointed, and said, ''A mean old man '' he kind of giggled and did not seem frightened. About a yr. Later, I was coming down stairs and saw what I thought was my husband cross in front of me at the stairway bottom coming from the kitchen and heading to the LR. I got down into the LR just in time to see it walk into the bedroom, carrying a
red flannel shirt. Just at that same time, I heard the sound of hammering on the porch. My husband was out there building a dog house ! We both went into the bedroom, nobody was there and no one could go out the window because in that room the window was over a deep bank where the hill dropped off. I was standing in the front door and the way back past the stairs so I know he didn't go out that way.

In the mid 90s we rented another trailer on Big Lynn, toward the end of the hollow. There was a steep mountain directly behind it and a cemetery was on that hill. We would hear bluegrass and gospel music playing, very late at night from the cemetery. At first we thought it was coon hunters just partying around up there. But that winter was one of the worst we ever had, roads were closed because of snow and ice, temps. Down in the below zeros. No way could anyone get up that mountain and if they could they would not want to sit out and play music. I heard it about every night so did our neighbors. I even got up and unplugged every appliance
to make certain it wasn't any sound from them. We asked around, nobody was up late playing music loud . It always sounded like bluegrass, gospel and a few times big band. Also, my oldest son's friend had a Ouija board, he knew I was into paranormal things and they brought it over a few times. We contacted the spirit of a little girl, age 3 who said her name was Cassie Ramey, she died in the early 20s,gave us her death and birth dates. She said she died because she didn't have her shots or she was shot. That was never clear. This all happened when we first moved in. We had no idea of what was above us at the time.
