The phantom of an aged woman gripping a handgun may regularly be perceived gazing at the sight from the apex of Stone Steps late at night. Loads of local residents argue this spirit is the stressed spirit of a long forgotten War local resident.

The spirit of a waitress can be observed time and again
in the early morning hours checking out Johnnycake Hollow in detail. People who have observed this ghost claim this ghost is the ghost of a vacationer that was murdered while journeying through War some time ago. Nevertheless, this is an unlikable ghost that is better not interrupted.

The ghost of an elderly cleaning lady has sometimes been observed throwing bricks into the current at Beech Fork after midnight.
