Spirits are so typical in this place; lots of people who live here don’t even think about it any longer. A number of people who live here say these descriptions are lies, but with so many ghosts in Courtland you have a relatively splendid chance of catching       a sight of one if you stay overnight in this place. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. The phantom of a street bum can be seen very frequently   taking a rest at the kitchen counter in a Courtland flat. The ghost of an elderly hag has occasionally been seen flying over Devils Den in the early morning hours before sunrise. No matter what, it unquestionably is a scary ghost that you wouldn't wish to bump into around midnight. A woman's body with a skunk's head is every so often perceived drinking water from Big Herd Spring around midnight. One thing is for sure, this is an unlikable ghost that any sound person wouldn't wish to meet. A man having the head of a devil has been said to have been made out on one or two instances howling at the witness to go away up on the apex of Bash Mountain. Local people allege that this ghost is the undead spirit of an old Courtland local resident.
