This is sort of the continuation of my ghost story about living with my grandmother in a house on Gordon Drive SW. When my granddaddy passed away I was around 9 or 10 years old. It had been two weeks since he had passed away. I was sitting in his old green leather recliner he always sat in, and I was looking at his smoke stand ashtray also that was beside his chair too. That was when I heard footsteps that was coming from the kitchen which was behind me from the back of the house. They were coming into the dining room, and that was when me, my sister, and grandmother ran out onto the front porch. Those footsteps scared me into shock. I had to be seen twice by a doctor from being so.

Back in high school, a friend and I were riding around Decatur with nothing to do. She always liked the water fountain at the Old State Bank, so we parked nearby and sat on the steps for a while before sundown. As we were leaving, she wanted to see the little courtyard and the cabin on the side of the building. I reached over the gate and unhooked the latch. We walked into the courtyard and looked around. She said something didn't feel right. I walked up to the wooden door on the cabin. I turned the knob. It was locked. I am sure. I twisted the knob and pushed and pulled. It would not open.
As I let go of the door knob and turned to walk away, it slowly opened inwards. I took a step back trying not to let Tracy know I was freaking out. I turned to walk away and noticed the swing hanging on the trestle nearby was swinging. There was no one in it. We were both staring at it. There was not a breeze at all. It was late summer and very humid. All of a sudden we felt cool air around us. Still no breeze but a definite cool mass of air. We both went straight to my truck without talking. We ended up going home early that night. I dropped her off at her house and went home. Both of us ended up having strange things happen to us that night at home. I still pass by the Old State Bank on Hwy 20 while driving through town. I haven't seen anything, but still have vivid memories of that night.

About 1978-1982 I lived with my grandmother on Gordon Dr. SW. It was me, my mom, and my other two sisters . We heard footsteps in this house all the time. I saw a picture frame turn all way around by itself one time. My grand dad had died in 1978, after that I started seeing him around there some. I submitted the other ghost sighting in Athens where I now live about the little girl who curtsied at me when I waved at her. I guess I have some gift to be able to sometimes experience these things.
