The little girl was an only child, so she had to play by herself most of the time. She spent most of her time in her bedroom playing with her dolls and an elaborate dollhouse.     On her fifth birthday, her father told her that after he came home from work, he was going to bring her a special present. Well, when he came home at 5:00, his daughter was sitting by the door waiting for him. She jumped up and grabbed the big box that the placed in her arms. She tore open the lid and a little furry face stared out at her from under an old towel. It was a two-week old puppy. She grabbed the little puppy and hugged him. Her mother and father smiled, because she now had the playmate that she had always wanted.
