I grew up in Ozark and looking back on it now I don't think there were any real haunted places but it sure didn't feel that way when I was a kid (around 1980). We used to wander all over that town and I was scared most of the time.
Lots of railroad tracks and old abandoned houses we used to comb through. One story - we always heard about ''dean church'' which is close to Logan Rd and how it was really a Satan worship place so one time when I was 14 or 15 my older sister and one of her friends decided to take me out there to ''check it out'' one late night.
So we drove out there and I was looking around the cemetery for scary stuff basically and little did I know that they had smuggled another of their friends in the trunk of the car the whole time. He got out while I was wandering around and then came running at all of us looking crazy and waving a big stick.
