When I was growing up, we always had our family reunions at the old Penn Young house... Story has it he owned slaves and was cruel to them. One night, the slaves broke free and one in particular hid on the 13th step and when Penn Young went upstairs, he jumped out and cut him to pieces. I grew up in Alabama and I always heard this story. Is it true? Did all this really happen? Across the street....way back in the woods,
