Troy, Alabama Ghost Sightings - PAGE 7

too real to be a ''trick of the mind'' or anything else you want to call it to explain it away. Let me just say this in closing: it is the rational sane human reaction to not believe but if you ever get chosen by it to experience it it will shake you to your core and tear down every preconceived notion you ever had about the supernatural.
Then you'll be like me... You will have to believe pure and simple.

I graduated from TSU in 1984 and very much enjoyed my college years there. Everything was great except for period of about 6 months which caused me great fear at night and which nobody has ever been able to explain. I am not sure that this qualifies as a ''ghost'' experience but I think it was a case of demons possibly trying to take me over or maybe just torment me. What I am getting ready to relay I am not sure is connected but over the years I have thought that it might have been...It seems logical based upon what I have since read and heard in documentaries. Prior to moving to Troy I went to a fortune telling as basically a joke--a friend suggested it as a gag.
The fortune telling did nothing for me but a girl in the waiting room shared with me a book she read on the occult---it was a book of blackmagic.I will not sate the name of the book because I do not want anyone to repeat the mistake I made and possibly re-live the horrible haunting or tormenting that I went through. It was a nightmare. Out of curiosity and youth I was walking through barns and Noble one day and on the shelf right in front of me was ''the book''---the book the girl had told me about. Yes out of youth and curiosity I bought the book and I went home and read parts of it and yes tried some of the simpler chants---that consisted of only the things I could get my hands on. Some of the spells required blood or birds and such and I did not do those because I love nature and would not want to hurt any living creature; nor do I want to experiment with blood. However I did read aloud some of the simple chants and spells that did not require those things. |
By the way nothing happened then. In addition I was into the new wave scene and I liked a lot of punk rock---most was good but some was dark such as Lydia lunch (suicide ocean) sousie and the banshee and a few others. I listened to the music and thought nothing of it. Again I saw no connection at the time but over the ye ars I have come to think that maybe it was connected especially experimenting with black magic---maybe it opened a door to evil. Anyhow several months later I went off to tsu (troy) and did not think any more about it.
I was a night owl then and did a lot of studying at night. Sometime in 1984 I started having these weird super natural experiences that scared me terribly. It would always happen at night right before I would go to sleep. As soon as I turned out the light and pulled the sheet up around me (I've always slept with my head covered) I would begin to hear a noise that sounded like the noise you hear when you hold a sea shell up to your ear. It would get very loud and then I would hear voices like people talking as in a crowd but I could not make out what they were saying. Then after 5-10 minutes the sheet would start vibrating all the while I am hearing the noise from the shell.
