Years ago (late 70's) I live with my two daughters and husband in an old house on some land that my mother had purchase after my father had pass away her last name was Cowan why I was living there I saw things I couldn't believe the land was a part of a large picturesque plantation that was destroy doing the war between the north and south.
To make a long story short my brother purchase some land in what then nothing but woods the other day I was talking my brother daughter she told me as young girl that she and a cousin was walking down deep in the woods when they came a cross a long lost and forgotten large Confederate soldiers grave yard it must have been a big battle near by.
The land today is call Wilmer estates.|

Comment by Michelle: I have lived in Wilmer all my life; the place you are talking about really exists. My kids and the kids of the neighborhood walk past this cemetery to get to the Escatauba River; there are headstones looks like it may be part of an old plantation. One of the headstones reads ''King Moffat'' hence why it is called Moffatville.
It seems that the whole neighborhood is haunted; the specific area you are talking about was called Pheonix City. Ask some of he old timers around there.

I don't believe in spirits.... But on 3 occasions I have seen a reflection of an old man in a Civil War uniform when I look down in the water at big creek lake on Moffett Rd... Scared the heck out of me....
