Comment by Robin: I did stop by the house. I get a feeling about house. It is creepy place. Honestly I'm deaf. I didn't hear around in the house. But I wore my hearing aids. I just figure out some things like little noises.
I'm not sure about that. Can you tell me about that house on Lake Ariana blvd? Thank you! Have a great day!.
Comment by Suzi: My mother used to take care of Mrs. Denton. She was Mrs. Denton's home health aide. I used to stay there every once and a while and I have never experienced anything paranormal there. Mrs. Denton was a loving and caring woman although her husband was not.
(from the stories I've heard from my mother she has also cared for him till he passed. ) the Denton's never had any children of their own and after Mr. Denton passed away Mrs. Denton often gave money to children's charities around Polk county.
Mrs. Denton would also make sure that my sisters' and I had a wonderful Christmas every year while my mother worked for her. My mother worked for her till Mrs. Denton passed away.
The night Mrs. Denton left this world my mother said she was at Mrs. Denton's side and Mrs. Denton said this as she took her last few breaths 'it burns, Sheila (my mothers name ) , put the fire out' . Then she passed away. That is something my mother never forgot and she dealt with a lot of death from being in the field she worked in.
As far as practicing witch craft I don't believe that at all. I had known Mrs. Denton for close to 10 years before she passed away and never seen anything in that house that referred to any kind of witch craft what so ever.
They ( the Denton's ) owned a beautiful peaceful home. If there is something paranormal in the home or surrounding property it may just be her making sure her home is safe and sound.

Comment by Angie: I too have lived in Auburndale all my life and never heard of the Denton/Spider house. However, my family and I was driving by one day, and it was abandoned and was interest, so we stopped. All the doors were open, so we went in. It was a weird home for sure. Beautiful one day but today in great despair. We walked around for almost an hour with no feeling of ghosts. Maybe if I looked a little closer. I wish I knew all the stories before I went in. Since then I still live in the area, and it has been remodeled and is occupied as of June 2019.
