Bushnell, Florida Ghost Tales It's been 25 years ago...but as a 6 year old, I saw the ghost of a soldier on several occasions in my family's home in Lake Panasoffkee. It would come out of the wall at the end of a dark hallway..and each time I saw him he would get closer before I would eventually get up and go tell my parents. At the last sighting, he came into my bedroom one night, he got very close. His face was very bright and illuminated..his features were flat and transparent. I think you would call him two-dimensional. He reached out to tickle me.I began to cry. He stopped, and floated backwards into the very wall he came from. A female with her head and both arms chopped off was witnessed in a house next to Bushnell. Further accounts of this spirit have been described. Many residents declare this ghost may be the soul of a local resident who died here in Bushnell some decades ago. A soldier's uniform staggering about without a body in it has repeatedly been observed glancing over Clark Prairie at midnight. The ghost of a gravely burned woman is frequently made out in Bear Creek before dawn trying to conceal a cadaver. One thing's for guaranteed, it's a bloodcurdling ghost that any wise person wouldn't wish to encounter. The ghost of a train driver can repeatedly be made out in DeWitt Scrub after midnight collecting wood for a fire. Whichever way, it is indisputably a bloodcurdling ghost that should be avoided.
