I know that house very well from when I was young. Now every time I am in the area I try to drive by on the chance that I may witness an occurrence. Tonight it paid off. I had just dropped off a friend at his house about 2:00 am. Coming down Kings Highway I cut through by the house. The house was completely dark except for the chandelier in the upstairs window which went from fading slowly off then suddenly back on. Then all the lights on the top story started flashing on and off. Then it just stopped, and the whole place was pitch black.
After a moment, I soon realized that they had a lot of those solar lights in the yard, because they all turned on at once. They had all been out before, and now they were all on. That type of light doesn't work that way. They all have individual controls and come on when the sun sets. I think this house is one of the most haunted in Florida. People just don't know, but it has been active since I was a kid. Next time I am going to have my camera with me, maybe I can post a picture.

Comment by Jeanine: Hi, I was curious about your post, as I have heard things about that house as well. It's a beautiful house and does look haunted. I am from the Leesburg area and go through the town a lot and have driven by it as well. I know several people in town. I was wondering if you knew the history of the house as to why it may be haunted. You say you grew up there in town. I am interested in that sort of stuff. It would be great if you could get a picture of it! Please post any more that you might know! I have seen the strange light happenings myself. One time while visiting the grave yard with a friend I saw this very bright light glowing from the house. I have no idea what it could have been. It was there and floating and then gone. Thanks.

I grew up in Center Hill and have lived here all my life. I know for a fact that there is a haunted house here. The people who live there now have lived there for about 12 years. They have told me about strange occurrences they experienced that brought back memories of when I used to spend the night with the family that lived there. They had a son that was 1 year older than me, and we were the best of friends. The same type of things the owners told me are happening now also happened when I was there as a child 30 years ago! I could never sleep when I stayed there. I remember all manner of bumping and knocking sounds, objects like books and pictures falling from tables or off the wall. On 2 occasions I saw golden orbs of light appear out of nowhere, hovering and flying through the air. The radio would turn itself on and off, and the volume control knob would move on its own. You could watch it move! It happened one time with 8 of us watching it up close from only a couple feet away. I eventually became too afraid to go there except during the day.
I have told the owners my stories, and they have experienced many of the same types of activity and are very interested in learning of the house's history. They go to great lengths to keep the fact they live in a haunted house' secret because of privacy issues. They do not want a lot of tourists and gawkers coming around all the time like other haunted places (like Amityville). At their request, I am not going to disclose exactly where the house is located in Center Hill. They have told me some very interesting facts about the house that I never knew that may give insight into the haunting. The house was built in 1920 by a prominent Center Hill builder. Its second story window looks out upon the Center Hill Cemetery, and directly overlooks the graves of the family members that built the house. Are the house's ancestors still keeping vigil on their home? The owners of the house said they feel the spirit presence is good and not evil, but they added, that doesn't make it any less scary.
