The ghost of an old guy with a huge gray beard may from time to time be seen by Barron River verbalizing into the air. Several of those who       live here assert this spirit is the stressed soul of a long forgotten Chokoloskee person who lived here. A lady with a spear sticking out of her head was seen glancing across Rabbit Key Grasses before dawn. When made out the ghost came up to the witness who then ran away.
