One has reportedly even gotten out of their vehicle to check and see, but found no boy. In the early 1990s a small boy was hit and killed on a street in that subdivision and some people believe it is his spirit that haunts the path as a warning for drivers to slow down. On     stormy nights, a figure has been seen at Hobe Sound Public Beach out on the waves, surfing. In the 1960s a teenage boy tried to surf during a hurricane and disappeared, assumed to have drowned. His body was never found. But those who hang near the beach after hours have reported strange lights, shadows, and phantom touches. These are not all believed to be from that boy, but from others who have drowned or died near or on this beach.
