Marianna, Florida Ghost Tales I live in a house in Marianna Florida. The place we live at, I think is haunted. I know it is not me or the house, because we bought the house and moved onto the property. And ever since we lived here I have been hearing things and also saw things. I know it is not my eyes playing tricks on me, because some of my friends have had the same stuff happen to them in my house. I hear footsteps and one time I saw a little girl in my moms door way. There is even one night I had two of my friends over and they both said they saw her. But my mom nor nobody else has seen her. My mom tells me it is just the house settling down. But I know it is nothing like that. Though I have only seen the little girl once, the sounds I have heard 1000's of times. So I think the property is haunted. Phantoms are so normal around here; scores of locals don’t       even think about it any longer. Folks who have never stayed a day in this municipality will laugh and say it's lies, but anybody who has stayed a day in Marianna, Florida knows better. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. The ghost of a train driver is once in a while noticed in a shoe   store in the Marianna area. Locals here who have noticed this ghost say this ghost could be the spirit of a local who died here in Marianna some decades ago. The spirit of a gravely mangled hunter hauling a dead moose is rumored to have been noticed on numerous occasions in Florida Caverns State Park late at night sobbing. A woman lacking a head can sometimes be spotted trying on socks in a Marianna residence. A gentleman lacking a head has regularly been spotted attempting to utter something at the water at Taylor Hole. Locals argue that this ghost might be a renowned past dweller of Marianna. An incredibly menacing spirit is often spotted twinkling a kerosene lamp down at the water at Caraway Mill Pond. The spirit of an aged prospector with a sizeable mustache and a hook instead of his hand is rumored to have been distinguished on a few instances reasoning next to Baltzell Spring at the stroke of midnight. One of the people who live here strongly declares that this ghost is probably the stressed ghost of a local who used to live here in Marianna.
