Merritt Island, Florida Ghost Tales I have the spirit of a girl, approximately 6 years old in my home.  I have researched all that I can and have found no evidence of a death in this home or on this street.  I have seen her a total of 7 times in my bedroom (master bedroom) wearing a long white nightgown, just standing in my doorway. I have seen her a different times during the day and evening and I am awake and alert and usually doing something in the room when she appears.  Only once has she let the doorway and that was when I was lieing in bed, not feeling well, watching T.V., she appeared next to me, laying across the bed and was softly stroking my arm.  This was the only time I have seen her face as it was usually blocked out in black.  Her hand was very small and warm. I was completely awake, because I sat up and continued to stare her in the eyes.  She didn't move.  I got out of bed to get my husband (who was downstairs) and as I left the room I looked back at her and she was still lying on the bed, however, turned to watch me walk out of the room.  When my husband and       I came back into the room, of course she was gone. I have taken many pictures of my home, in hopes of getting a picture of her, but to no avail.  She is warm and caring and doesn't frighten me at all. There have been many incidents with beings from the other side. Disbelievers don't have faith in the local ghost testimonies, but the living dead could show themselves to you if you stay for a few days in Merritt Island. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. A bloodcurdling skeleton has allegedly been made out on a few instances in a supermarket in the Merritt Island vicinity. A glow-in-the-dark human shape can repeatedly be witnessed at Cocoa Yacht Basin after midnight enjoying the landscape. One thing's for sure, this ghost unquestionably is chilling; one that you would not want to meet very late at night. The ghost of a young guy wearing a jacket can be seen often at Crane Creek before dawn flinging pebbles into the stream. According to what the local residents allege, this phantom is the phantom of a visitor that was murdered while driving through Merritt Island some time ago. A beheaded gentleman has from time to time been spotted trying on a jacket in a Merritt Island residence.
