Winter Haven, Florida Ghost Tales I lived in a house on Bates Ave in Winter Haven Florida that was built in the 1930's. There is a presence in the back room of the cottage of the house. I felt it many times when I was growing up there. It makes you feel scared and sick to your stomach. It is a hateful presence, something out of nightmares. I have never felt something so dense and so evil in my life before or since. I saw black masses in the air around the area and sometimes it felt as if something was trying to pull me towards it. I still have nightmares about it and worry about the people who live there now. The       phantom of a street bum has supposedly been made out on a small number of instances trying to find a photo beside a parked Toyota in a Winter Haven parking lot late at night. Some of the folks who live in this town say this phantom likes startling foolish people who have the guts to disturb the serenity in Winter Haven. The ghost of an aged   hag can sometimes be distinguished sipping blood from a cup around midnight by a road sign in Winter Haven. No matter what folks articulate, this is an unsympathetic ghost that should be let alone. A lady's body having a donkey's head was witnessed in Inman Park around midnight pulling a body across the dirt. The ghost was swallowed by the night after being witnessed. A fairly rotten human body materialized resting at the kitchen counter in a Winter Haven building dining on a cracker. Shocked by the eye witnesses the phantom withdrew into the night. One thing's for guaranteed, it's a bloodcurdling ghost that is preferably not disrupted. A female burning, hauling a gas tank was perceived guzzling paint by Boggy Branch. When made out the ghost came up to the witness who then ran off. According to the folks who live here, this ghost enjoys frightening foolhardy folks who come seeking ghosts in Winter Haven. The ghost of a young air force pilot was made out walking through a home in Winter Haven. There have been other descriptions with reference to this spirit in the vicinity. Based on what the local residents say, this ghost may perhaps be a famous past inhabitant of Winter Haven. Nevertheless, it's sure a frightening ghost that you wouldn't wish to come across very late at night.
