Abbeville, Georgia Ghost Tales I usually don't believe in ghosts. But, a year ago, when I was 11, I went into my room. There, there was a girl, about my age. If I remember, she had brown hair and green eyes. She kept mumbling, ''Of all the days for mother and father to leave me behind...OF ALL THE DAYS!!!!'' Then she looked at me and said, ''Did your mother and father leave you behind too?? Odd clothes, what, are you from Finland or something?'' I was frozen in fright. Then, I heard a gunshot. ''The British are coming. Gettysburg was always so different after the war. I must go to a safe spot.'' she said. She walked out to the hall. I waited for about 5 seconds the looked in the hallway. They girl was gone. That night, about 6 hours after I saw her, I heard a murder scream from a girl. After that, I never saw her again. Scores of spirit stories have been exposed by the people who live here.       Some people who live here claim these reports are untrue, but there truly are chilling things going on here in Abbeville in the moonlight hours. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. A very frightening ghost may every now and then be witnessed going crazy at Addison Dam in the early morning   hours before sunrise. The ghost of an old gold digger with a large beard and a wooden right leg was spotted on a dark night examining Boat Ramp Statham Shoals in detail. The ghost mentioned revenging an assassination.
