He was standing in the grass on the side of the road with the tips of his toes meeting the pavement. He was just standing there. I stared in amazement as he began to slowly cross the street, step by step, very slowly. When he reached the other side, he stopped just as his toes began to touch the grass, almost as if the grass was his boundary. He just stood there for a second staring     straight ahead. Then all of a sudden his head turned toward me and he stared for a total of maybe 10 seconds. You could not make out facial features, but you couldtell that his head turned by the fluctuation of the light. After the 10 second time period was over, he turned straight again and began walking into the ditch. As he walked into the ditch, his legs were moving as if he was going down a staircase, step by step, which was crazy. Then he disappeared into the ditch, never to be seen again by me.
