The old Pepperton mill that is being torn down at this very moment is very haunted. I worked in that mill for 15 years and had many experiences. As did other employees. We even had a ghost hunting team to come in and investigate several years back. Submitted by Barbara
Comment by Skip: I was with the ghost hunting team that investigated the old Pepperton mill. I know that one of the ghosts that haunted it was my father's uncle who had been struck by a train right in front of the mill and had died when he was brought back into the mill while waiting for medical help. This was many years ago but I know many people who have personally experienced encounters with his ghost and others.

Comment by Cjh: It was my great grandfather who was struck by the train and killed at the mill. I can say from stories told to me by my grandmother his daughter that he died instantly there on the tracks. He was killed instantly at the time of impact.

Comment by Skip: Cjh... I know there were at least two different incidents involving people being hit by trains there. I only know the details I was told over the years. Maybe over time the information of the two got ''mixed'' some. I do remember hearing about the other incident and hearing that man died instantly. Let's just hope that both souls have finally found peace.

I have lived in Jackson for about 6 years now, and I've only heard two stories that is true. 1. The first one is in Indian springs. It is told that one of the cheifs that once roamed the Camp Grounds is still there.
