Locust Grove, Georgia Ghost Tales I lived on the edge of Bethlehem Bottoms for many years. Often times I heard someone walking down the hall. I would come out to see if anyone was up walking but no one was there. When I finally mentioned it to other family members it seems they all had heard it too.We even rejoiced the floor thinking it was loose boards, but it continued. The woman from whom the house was bought was known as ''Swamp Woman'', she was about 6 feet tall and always carried a knife on her hip and a gun! After her husband went ''missing'' and she was jilted by her lover she sold the house to my husband, (in the early 1970's). Jacki then moved to Texas and killed herself within a month. I think that she came ''home''.  On the last day we were there and packing things up in the basement everyone heard the footsteps down the hall, we all looked at each other and said ''well, Jack came to say goodbye to us.'' The swamp is an eerie place with strange sounds and cold spots. When I lived there many people told me ''I never go down there, especially at night''. My water faucets come on at night, the doors open buy themselves and our truck will start buy itself. I do know the ghost, a lost soul a good soul passed away so young. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. The ghost of a nine feet high huge man is rumored to have been witnessed on frequent occasions taking in the view at Collins Lake Dam late at night. The ghost of a teen girl can every so often be made out staring by Bethlehem Bottoms. A person with a skeleton face having on dark robes was distinguished by Brown Branch attempting to articulate something. When the eye witness came into view the ghost ran off.
