When perceived the ghost came close to the bystander who then escaped. Several of the people who live in this town claim this spirit may be the spirit of a local resident who passed away here in Morganton before the present. The ghost of a security guard with a bullet hole in his forehead was seen floating by on Beck Branch at night. There have been numerous descriptions about this ghost in the vicinity. The ghost of an old man with a long gray mustache became visible by Free Bend attempting to grasp something. Many accounts of this ghost have been described.
