Statenville, Georgia Ghost Tales THERE IS A CEMETARY DOWN A COUNTRY ROAD HERE THAT IS VERY OLD. I WAS WITH A COUPLE OF MY FRIENDS AND WE DECIDED TO GO DOWN THERE RECENTLY. WE HAVE BEEN HEARING RUMORS ABOUT THIS CERTAIN GRAVEYARD FROM A FEW OTHER LOCAL FOLKS., AND OUR PARENTS. WE CHECKED IT OUT AND WENT RECENTLY, AND WE ALL GOT TO THE MIDDLE OF THE CEMETARY. WE HUNG OUT THERE FOR A WHILE AND THEN DECIDED TO WALK AROUND. WE STAYED TOGETHER AND AT ONE POINT WE COULD HAVE SWORE WE ALL HEARD A CHILD CALL FOR MOMMY AT LEAST 2 TIMES. THERE WAS 5 IN OUR GROUP. ALSO THERE WAS OTHER SOUNDS. OTHER PEOPLE HAVE SEEN STRANGE LIGHTS IN THERE AT NIGHT. Night time is living dead time around here.   A number of people who live here argue there are no ghosts, but the ghosts of Statenville are out tonight seeking a person to frighten. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. The ghost of a seriously mangled hunter pulling a dead wolf is every now and then spotted flying over Georgia Sink around midnight. A lady devoid of a head may every now and then be made out pulling a body from the cold water of Half Way Branch at the stroke of midnight. It's been asserted that this precise spirit is that of a local who lived here in Statenville many years ago. Whatever folks say, this ghost indisputably is scary; one that should be avoided.
