While working for an eye doctor in Statesboro, he and the other workers frequently stated that they stopped coming early because they would here someone in the office only to discover no one there. This scared them because this was originally the office of another eye doctor who died in a tragic accident just a year before I started working there. Being new, of course, I would come early, set down my things and go out for a walk before work. One morning, I saw a doctor picking up a file from beside the door and walking toward the doctor's office in the back. When I looked again, he vanished. I

never went early again. Frequently, my office phone would turn on by itself blaring the dial tone loudly through the speaker. This happened so much, the telephone company was asked to investigate, but
