Blue Mountain, Mississippi Ghost Tales When I was a child I would visit my grandmother in Blue Mountain. She claimed her house was haunted. Things would disappear. The sounds of a baby crying and a young girl screaming for help were often heard. Also footsteps and knocks on the door. My uncle had the sheets pulled off his bed. My mother had a sandwich and glass of milk disappear. This house was located at the top of the hill near the town water tower. The house burned down years ago and a brick home has been built in the same place. It was later determined that a man killed his young pregnant daughter at the home and threw her body in a well. The ghost of a gentleman having demonic signs etched into his head may occasionally be witnessed flickering a kerosene lamp by Bill Creek.
