Clarksdale, Mississippi Ghost Tales I was a child living in Clarksdale in the 50's and early 60's. The building on Issaquena St. was an old hospital that was converted to living quarters owned by Mr. Jacobson where many famed people lived. My mother and her friend were sitting out in the hall laughing and talking. There was a window at the top of the building and a black cat jumped from the window across both their laps and then disappeared. Another time, we saw a man walking down the hall. We tried to catch up to him and he disappeared behind the fire escape. . Things happen in this place that can't be explained. Folks who have never stayed overnight in this town will say to you it's a pack of lies, but a stopover in Clarksdale, Mississippi will make anyone believe. These       are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. A gentleman with a big hole through his chest was witnessed at Black Bayou before sunrise flinging chunks of concrete into the water. The ghost mentioned avenging an assassination. A local man argues that this ghost is in all probability the undeceased ghost of a local   who used to dwell here in Clarksdale. In any case, it's sure a scary ghost that you shouldn't go seeking. A female's body with a dog's head appeared looking at the water by Floyd Haney Pond Dam before sunrise. The observer got freaked out and escaped. One of the folks who live here definitely alleges that this ghost is the struggling spirit of a long forgotten Clarksdale local. A moderately decayed human dead body was seen taking a rest in a chair in a flat in the neighborhood of Clarksdale. The spirit didn't seem to be worried by the observers. A lady afire, hauling a petroleum container emerged in the rear seat of a Dodge by the driver spotting the ghost in his rear view mirror late in the night. The ghost saluted the viewer. The ghost of a young-looking air force pilot was perceived raking leaves in the back yard of a house in Clarksdale. The ghost was swallowed by the air after being observed. A female with a green face was witnessed by a person canoeing in a river in close proximity to Clarksdale. When spotted the ghost came up to the watcher who then fled. A number of of those who live here assert this ghost is the ghost of a vacationer that was killed while driving through Clarksdale long ago. Regardless of what, this ghost certainly is scary; one that should be kept away from.
