The building on Issaquena St. was an old hospital that was converted to living quarters owned by Mr. Jacobson where many famed people lived. My mother and her friend were sitting out in the hall laughing and talking. There was a window at the top of the building and a black cat jumped from the window across both their laps and then disappeared. Another time,     we saw a man walking down the hall. We tried to catch up to him and he disappeared behind the fire escape. .
