Clinton, Mississippi Ghost Tales On Thursday, 11/13/2008, I was doing maintenance work on the roof of the BCR center at Mississippi College in Clinton.? Alone for most of the day, I repeatedly felt the presence of someone behind me and turned around to look to see who might have entered the area, only to see in the corner of my eye, a dark shadow quickly disappear out of sight.? I dismissed it at first, but it continued five or six more times while I was there.? Always, I felt someone behind me and always when I would turn to look, ''IT'' would disappear.? There was no one else on the roof.?? I happened to mention the incident to another employee who was in the basement of the same building at the same time.? Also alone, He was working in a secluded area on his laptop and noticed the figure of a man reflected in his laptop screen and turned to look to seek who it was only to have ''it'' disappear.?? Asking around, no one could tell us if this was a common occurrence but I did learn the campus was apparently a civil war battleground and the BCR building at one time was       in fact a hospital.? Anyone else have any info, it would be appreciated. . These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. A bloodcurdling creature was distinguished piling pieces of wood near Swaffords Spring in the early morning hours before sunrise. The appearance of the viewer frightened the spirit who then faded away. The spirit of a gentleman dressed as a car mechanic has frequently been observed by Camp Garaway Pond Dam at night gazing at the water. One of the locals confidently asserts that this spirit enjoys terrifying foolhardy people who have the guts to upset the tranquility in Clinton. A woman with a fairly translucent body is frequently perceived covering a body by a large rock in Bald Prairie at night. The ghost of a gentleman in a police force uniform is rumored to have been made out on a handful of instances throwing pieces of wood into Lazy U Lake late at night. Either way, this is an unsympathetic spirit that any commonsensical person wouldn't wish to come across.
