There have been scores of meetings with spirits from the other side. Disbelievers don't believe in the local spirit tales, but anyone who has spent the night in Courtland, Mississippi knows better. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. The ghost of a young guy wearing a confederate uniform has often been noticed struggling to capture something in the middle of a desolate road in the neighborhood of Courtland in the early morning hours. Whatever folks say,       it undoubtedly is a chilling ghost that any sensible person wouldn't wish to come across. The phantom of a street bum is repeatedly spotted trying to deposit a dead body in Burnt Brake late in the night. Anyhow, this ghost sure is bloodcurdling; one that should be avoided. The spirit of an old hag is known to have been observed on a few   instances meditating by Beech Bayou. A female's body having a lizard's head may be perceived frequently rearranging orbs around in Starck Hollow late in the night. Local people who have perceived this ghost allege this ghost is the undeceased spirit of a long dead Courtland local person. A man having the head of a demon has now and then been perceived by Agar Lake Cut-Off appearing terrifying. A lady burning, holding a petroleum bottle is every so often observed standing by a secluded highway outside Courtland.
