Hickory Flat, Mississippi Ghost Tales When I was a kid, we were out for a drive on a perfectly sunny day. When we passed by the Pisgah Cemetery, a cloud was overhead and it was raining only in the cemetery. We later found out a man from up north had been murdered nearby and buried in the cemetery in an unmarked grave. Shortly afterward, we went back and there was a marker there that we had not seen before. We also investigated the plantation family cemetery across the road on a windless day. We stepped inside the wrought iron gate to look at the tomb up close. Once inside, the gate slammed shut as though someone had slammed it. No one was around and only a tornado could have blown that heavy gate shut! It is also said that in this same neighborhood a headless person rides a white horse through on moonlit nights after midnight. I saw two of these things happen. Pisgah is haunted! .
