Laurel, Mississippi Ghost Tales A friend and I saw saw a ghostly figure on Old Amy Rd. Late one night in the fall of 1994. We had gone to visit a friend that lived back in the woods (where the cell tower is now). He wasn't home, so we left. As we stopped at the end of the dirt drive ( right by where the cell tower is now) I looked right (towards where Teresa's Bake Shop used to be) and I saw a TALL THIN figure moving towards us. It was about 30-40 yards away. It gave me a sense of fear. It frightened me so much that I couldn't speak. After a few seconds, my buddy who was driving hit the gas and sped away towards Motorama Gardens. I still couldn't hardly speak. As we drive infront of Motorama, my friend yells '' WHAT IN THE HELL WAS THAT ??? !!!! ''. I screamed that I didnt know !! I didn't think that my friend had seen the tall thin creature because at first he didn't say anything, but he said that he was struck with the same feeling of fear and dread and couldn't speak either !!!It was TOO tall to be a man, and too thin to be someone on a horse. . Submitted by Matt While       the sun is shining the locals in Laurel, Mississippi perform their tasks exactly equal to anywhere else, but this town has bloodcurdling riddles hidden in the darkness. A lot of ghost reports have been exposed by the locals. Folks who have never spent the night in this town will say to you it's all myths, but with so many ghosts in Laurel you have   a reasonably great chance of witnessing one if you spend a night in this town. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. A somewhat translucent guy outfitted as the skipper of a craft can frequently be distinguished staring at folks in a Laurel flat through a keyhole. A sizeable scary phantom can be seen very often drifting down on Bee Branch at night. The spirit of a young guy wearing a confederate uniform has every so often been perceived in a wild place next to Laurel. The phantom of a street bum is from time to time spotted up on the pinnacle of Old Meeting House Hill struggling to express something. The ghost of an old hag has allegedly been seen on many occasions in Beacon Park after midnight shining a lamp. Some of the locals allege this ghost may be a famous yesteryear dweller of Laurel. A woman's body with a rat's head may occasionally be observed trying to flag down cars along a murky highway in the neighborhood of Laurel. A man with the head of a demon was made out by Dead Lake startling folks. The watcher panicked and ran off. One thing's for guaranteed, it's a creepy ghost that any normal person would not want to bump into.
