Folks who have never spent a night in this municipality will surely tell you it's lies, but the ghosts of Pontotoc are out tonight trying to locate someone to scare. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. The spirit of a security guard with a bullet hole in his forehead has often been noticed staring through mobile home windows in Pontotoc around midnight. The ghost of a guy in an armed forces outfit is repeatedly made out at Calloway Creek at midnight tossing pebbles into the water. A woman with an axe sticking out of her head has supposedly been witnessed on a few occasions shining a flash light down by the waterfront at Pontotoc Lake.       No matter what folks exclaim, it in all certainty is a scary phantom that you shouldn't go seeking. An old knight's armor lacking a person inside can be witnessed time and again very late at night examining Wilson Bottom in detail. A partly see-through man dressed as the skipper of a ship is occasionally distinguished watching TV in a   Pontotoc living room at night. The ghost of a young-looking guy wearing a confederate uniform has been said to have been witnessed on frequent instances in Old Natchez Trace Park after midnight screaming people's names. Loads of locals say this ghost is the undeparted spirit of a long dead Pontotoc resident. The ghost of a hobo may sometimes be seen looking frightening at Clark Lake Dam late in the night. The ghost of a young-looking female drenched in blood was spotted browsing through garbage container on a Pontotoc avenue. The ghost mumbled about revenging an assassination. One thing's for sure, this ghost indisputably is bloodcurdling; one that should be shunned. A gentleman with a big hole through his torso came into view on a Pontotoc road very late at night. The witness panicked and escaped. A woman's body with a bear's head was spotted suspended in the air like a hot-air balloon in Pontotoc. The phantom acknowledged the presence of the observer. Whichever way, it's a frightening ghost that is preferably not upset.
