My uncle was on the police force in JC TN too and he too told me and my cousin of when he was walking home one night years before from his night shift
patrol on the Boone St side of the cemetery, and as he walked down the hill he saw a woman walking up the hill he said he asked if she needed any help
since it was late at night but no reply. And then once close enough he could see right through her and he just stood there looking and that she walked
right through him not even noticing he was there and she just disappeared as he turn to see where she was going.
Unfortunately both he and my father

has passed away where I could try to get more info on the actually dates but would have been in the 1930s or 40s.

Last year I went on vacation, on a driving trip through the South. The main purpose was to meet with my Tour Guide and group to visit a specific location for a few days. The group was flying in, but I decided to drive. After the tour visited other sites myself along with my wife. At the last minute my wife hurt her knee and was unable to go but insisted I go alone as I had been looking forward to going for some time. Because of my wife's injury I left late and had to drive 1100 miles in a day and a half but felt confident I could do it. I left around noon on Tuesday and drove as long as I could before stopping for the night at a motel.

I got up for an early start Wednesday and had enough time to make it to my destination in time, but I wanted to make one stop on the way to visit a place I had read about in Johnson City. Since I had planned on returning by a different route I needed to visit it on the way. One of my ancestors, a Great Uncle had moved to Johnson City, Tennessee when it was a wilderness in the mid-1700s. His name was John Tipton. I had read there was a historic site there, and I wanted to visit it. I thought it was probably not much to it since it was almost 250 years old and wouldn't take very long to see it. I would be on my way back on the road. Well when I arrived I was overwhelmed. The Tipton-Haynes Historic site was huge, over ten acres with ten or twelve buildings including a large museum and the main house, which had started out as a log cabin that my ancestors originally built and was incorporated into it. Since it was a Wednesday morning there weren't many visitors, as a matter of fact I was the only one.
