Lenoir City, Tennessee Ghost Tales I was outside with my friends when we smelled this horrible stench. No one around us was burning anything, and there was nothing around to have made the smell. At least nothing we saw. The next day, we heard screams from nearby woods. We thought someone might need help, so we ran in to see where it was coming from. We saw a purple glowing figure hunched over a bloody carcass.(No idea what the body was) We ran away, not wanting to see anymore. We haven't gone near the shrubbery since. Dark time is undeceased time in this town.   A number of people who live here allege there are no ghosts, but there beyond doubt are menacing things happening here in Lenoir City in the dark hours. The ghost of a steel-miner has been spotted on frequent occasions staring at the water by Fort Loudoun Dam in the early morning hours before sunrise. A woman with a moderately transparent body can regularly be made out trying to find a photo by the water's edge at Fort Loudoun Lake. It has been said that this specific phantom is the phantom of a vacationer that was killed while driving through Lenoir City many years ago. The ghost of a guy in a police force outfit can be perceived frequently searching through trash cans on a Lenoir City residential road. In any event, this is an intimidating spirit that you do not want to run into in the early morning hours before sunrise. The ghost of a security guard with a bullet hole in his forehead has once in a while been witnessed scrutinizing Baker Hollow in detail at the stroke of midnight. If you talk to the folks who live here, this ghost is that of a resident who existed here in Lenoir City long ago.
