Avon, Indiana Ghost Tales Back during the 1970's when my grandfather worked for Amtrak he would swing through just outside Avon on Vestal Road to pickup a co worker of his and they would carpool to work. That man was later accused of child molestation. The guy feeling the pressure of being accused of such terrible acts one day dissappeared and was found one week later down the road. He had hung himself in the hayloft of barn. He was found by a group of children. To this day it's said that the spirit of this man haunts this barn and the area around it. At night supposedly strange things happen around this place like trails somehow ''switch'' and you can hear the sound of someone struggling to breath... This spirit is best left alone. Also there is a story of a woman and a baby who fell. The woman survived, but the baby       didnt. THey say you can hear the woman calling and crying for her infant child. Not only that, she has been reportedly attacked by a harming ghosts. She has bruises on her arms and legs to prove it. The ghost doesn't do anything but stare at you as you go past. Some reports say that this ghost is that of a man who supposedly died during the construction of the bridge. If someone passes him at night on this road it's best if you just keep going and leave him alone.
