Ground is definitely a place of spirits, but they were all living here or died here at some point.

Last fall (2012) my family and I were driving on St. Rd. 225 from Battle Ground. There is a single lane bridge that crosses the Wabash River east of the town and after you pass through Prophetstown state park.
I have always expected to see apparitions in that area as it is the supposed site of a village made up of several tribes that had gathered to take a stand against William Henry Harrison. Many lives were lost when they went from this village to the current location of the Tippecanoe battlefield and attacked Harrison and his men who were lodged there.
This area is also near where the infamous ''Trail of Tears'' passed through. For these reasons I always suspected I would see an apparition of ''natives.'' I have not but I did look over on this Sunday morning and saw a person dressed in reasonable modern garb standing just beyond the guard rail.|
They wore a green t-shirt and a light colored baseball cap. My family and I actually discussed the incident on our way to church. It felt strange and I made it a point to go back and look at the very spot.
The place where I saw that ''person'' standing behind the guardrail has a nearly vertical drop of around 25 or 30 feet into the river and no ledge upon which someone could stand. Whoever I saw was floating on thin air not standing.
I looked below and I even looked in the newspaper and watched to news to see if any missing persons had been reported. I found nothing. Nor have I found any connection to a past suicide or accident.
