Some of the dead and buried will not rest in this city. Not everybody believes in the accounts the people who live here tell, but frightening things undoubtedly go on here in Carthage during the moonlight hours. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. A female with a somewhat translucent body is occasionally spotted at Frank Alexander Lake Dam at midnight drinking water. In any event, this is a horrible ghost that should be avoided. The ghost of a security guard with a bullet hole in his forehead has supposedly been observed on one or two occasions drinking unleaded from a gasoline pump at a refueling station in Carthage. The ghost of a man sporting a military outfit may now and then be distinguished articulating into the night as if someone in addition was there. A lady with a spear sticking out of her head was observed hauling a body from       the chilly water of Anthony Creek at night. The spirit didn't seem to be worried by the eye witnesses. The phantom of a female with a plastic bag strapped around her head became visible walking a Terrier late in the night on a shady Carthage lane.
