Fort Wayne, Indiana Ghost Sightings
At Charlotte Russe in Glenbrook Mall two and a half hours after close the ghost visited us. We were cleaning in the back and heard shoe boxes being moved in our shoe room. Then hangers being shuffled around on a rack. A security guard came and checked to see if anyone was in our store, and no one was there.|

Fort Wayne is the second largest city in Indiana, and one of its main thoroughfares is North Anthony Boulevard, a beautiful, tree lined street that runs north and south. Most of the homes in that particular area of town are near the century old mark, its original inhabitants long gone. When I was in my early twenties I lived in one of the homes on that street for several months. The house was full of character, and naturally being an older home it made its share of bumps and noises, boards creaking, etc. At first, I didn't think much of the many noises and strange things that were going on in the home, but as time went on it seemed as though the house itself was crying for attention.
One night we were all sitting downstairs in the living room watching TV when suddenly the upstairs shower came on and the sound of somebody taking a shower. We all looked at each other as if we had just seen a ghost, but we knew that no one was on the second floor at that time, so we just tried to ignore what happened. Several days later I was down in the basement, which was more like a cellar, when I felt a small cold hand gently tug at the back side of my arm. I spared no time getting out of that creepy old basement. As I was running up the stairs, I thought I heard the sound of a child's laughter behind me. I wasn't the only one experiencing strange things in that old house. My best friend's five-year-old daughter was seen talking and interacting with someone or something invisible. When we asked her who she was talking to, she said it was the ''other'' little girl who was waiting for her mommy to come get her.
One fall afternoon I was upstairs on the second floor cleaning when I heard the distinct sound of footsteps coming up the stairs. As the footsteps got closer and closer, suddenly they stopped. When I looked out into the hallway, there was not a soul in sight. At that point, I was scared to death; I ran out of the house and called my dad to come pick me up until everyone got home from work. I was not staying another minute in this house by myself and within a week I moved out of the home. Several months later, on a hunch, I decided to do a little bit of research on the house. I learned that shortly after the house was built, a five-year-old child was hit and killed by a drunk driver while playing with her dolls in the front yard. Shortly after, the grieving parents packed up the house and moved to another town, which explains the lonely innocent soul left behind, still looking and waiting for her mother to return home and collect her. I pray that she has found peace in the loving arms of her mother and can finally rest in peace.
