He couldn't find a body so, shaken, he resumed his trip into town. He stopped at the police station to report what had happened and was told this was common--many people had seen the same woman run in front of their cars at the same place. The ghost of an aged man with a huge gray mustache is once in a while witnessed staring at a man sleeping in an armchair in a residence in French Lick. Regardless of what, this is a bad ghost that should be steered clear of. The ghost of a man wearing a military uniform is known to have been   distinguished on a few instances on the peak of Mount Airie before dawn glancing at the panorama. A woman with a knife sticking out of her head has often been noticed in Barnheisel Hollow around midnight looking bloodcurdling. A knight's armor from the middle ages with no person inside is regularly seen in Springs Valley State Fish and Wildlife Area at midnight looking wrathfully at the bystander. It has been asserted that this particular spirit is that of a person who lived here in French Lick some decades ago.
