Lake Station, Indiana Ghost Tales My daughter and I were driving east on 23rd avenue in Lake Station. I was about to tell her to slow down because I saw a young boy skipping toward the road from a side yard but she also saw the boy and put on the brakes to slow down. Imagine our suprise when there was'nt a little boy or anyone else around when we took a second look. Comparing what we saw we both realized it was like viewing an old  black and white movie and the little boy was dressed in old time clothing. Needless to say we both take a second look eveytime we drive by that spot. Haven't seen anything like it since. My first few weeks were ok until I heard scratching. One night I heard shooting so loud it felt like people were shooting in front of me. A friend told me a man died because someone shot him in the room I now sleep in. This still happens       but there is still more to be discovered in the haunted neighborhood. Submitted by Carma       Categories: sounds, home I have a story very similar to the shape shifting rat although I did not confirm it visually I woke up one morning very early approx. 3:30 a could not go back to sleep I went into my   living room laid on my couch which was right in front of my picture window I laid there for about a half an hour I saw a shadow on the curtain and then the strangest kind of shrieking howl. I have never in my life herd a sound similar to this before. I am an avid outdoorsman and I have seen some strange things but whatever this was it scared me stiff I couldn't move and was too afraid too see what made this noise I haven't had anything like this happen to me since this event after reading about the rat lady it made me wonder.
