A short distance from Montezuma is a little Hamlet that used to be known as crowded corner... Just off of hwy 36 near the dry train tressle. A large two Story Home used to sit just east of the Railroad bridge but was torn down in the late 1930's. The foundation and basement are still there     to this day. Carved into one of the sandstones that were used to floor the basement is the outline of a hand... Only a few inches deep when I saw it. The handprint was much deeper when my mother and her friends spent halloween night of 1941 in the ruins of the old house. As the Moon began to rise over the foundation of the House the handprint slowly filled with a Black liquid. When the group moved their lantern closer to the handprint for a better look... They realized the liquid was not Black but deep red... It was blood! Needless to say the group   (continued on the next page...)
