The ghosts of this town don’t leave anyone unscared. Not everyone believes in the accounts the locals tell, but anyone who has spent the night in Montezuma, Indiana knows better.

The ghost of a civil war warrior can every now and then be observed heaving rocks into the stream at Big Raccoon Creek on a dark night.

    of a dreadfully charred woman has regularly been observed looking at the surroundings at Shell Lake Dam in the early morning hours before sunrise.

The ghost of a man with names cut into his head
  is often spotted sniveling on the shore of Shell Lake. A local resident alleges that this phantom is the undeparted spirit of a former Montezuma person who lived here.

The spirit of a train driver has been perceived on several occasions in Ernie Pyle Rest Park in the early morning hours before sunrise looking.

A female with no head can often be made out by Hethcoe Bottoms trying to exclaim something.
