There was no back end of the carriage just the horse a driver wearing a coat with the collar pulled up and the front of the carriage. Also I could see the top of the horses legs and the top of the wheels but the bottom was just rolling mist.
It was the color of mist but had way to much detail to just be fog. Totally freaked me out.

Comment by Possum96: One of the best and most uncanny accounts I've read on this site this morning! You guys witnessed a true rarity!.
Comment by J: I've heard a story from my grandfather about the small lake or pond right on the corner of Campbell / Meridian and Calumet Rd. It is of a horse drawn carriage that had gone out of control and gone into that lake.
I heard my grandfather refer to the lake as a ''bottomless lake'' because no bodies were ever found after the incident. He said the bottom of the lake is so soft and murky; that's why nothing was recovered.
I don't know how long ago that story is from but I know that my great grandfather lived in Valpo for a long time.
