West Baden Springs, Indiana Ghost Tales I visited the West Baden on Monday, June 15, 2009.  I came out of the library around 5:30 p.m.  I began walking on the far side of the reservation area near the columns.  I was admiring the old style furniture.  I looked further away and saw a lady sitting in one of the high back chairs.  She had her back to me.  She had real long light brown hair.  Her hair style was from a different era.  That hairstyle is what caught my eye.  I was walking and I passed one of the columns and it blocked my view of her.  I decided to take a couple of steps back to get another look at her.  When I stepped back from the column, she was gone. Submitted by Jay       Category: lady We stayed in room 4647 Saturday, June 27th 2009.  At a little before 4am, I awoke for some reason, looked at the clock, and was drifting back to sleep when I heard a quick ''tap-tap-tap'' on metal near my head.  I immediately said ''Did you hear that?'' to my wife expecting she would be asleep, but she HAD heard it too.  I started tapping around on things       near the bed, and found the base of the brass lamp on the edge of the nightstand made the EXACT sound we heard when tapped with a fingernail.  It was very odd, but I went back to sleep.  Nothing else happened that I was aware of.  If I wasn't so tired, I would have taken out my camera and investigated closer...  I saw in the historic hotels guide they   have an Icon showing ghosts, but no mention anywhere of what or where.  I should call the front desk and ask them and relay my story. Submitted by Rich       Categories: hotel, sounds Two years ago my mother, myself, my daughter, and a friend of ours were staying at West Baden Hotel. My daughter was 8 years old at the time and she reports seeing a full body apparition leaning over our friend it was about 5:30am. My daughter was trying to figure out at first who was in the room. The ghost that she saw was a woman dressed in ''old time'' clothes just leaning over and looking at our friend my daughter didn't realize what she was seeing until the woman disappeared. My mother was the only other person awake and was around the corner when she came from around the corner the ''lady'' disappeared. My mom and daughter left the room and my daughter then told my mom what she had seen. I would like to add that they left ME sleeping in the room!! Actually my daughter wasn't ever really afraid and after two years still tells the same story not changing anything. She now watches GHOST HUNTERS and would like TAPS to investigate.
