Whiting, Indiana Ghost Tales A roofing company in Whiting, Indiana is haunted. A couple of friends & I decided to spend the night there in the attic. We were laying on the floor & you could hear tapping on the floor but underneath. We heard screams of little children & women. We felt clod spots on us. We all have scratches or dirty hand prints. Days before we went in there during the day & in one of the doorways you could see a teenager boy standing there with his arms crossed over his chest. He was wearing a white t-shirt & jeans with no shoes. When one of my friends went to approach him with a metal poll he ran & diminished       into a wall. That night when we left we saw him again sitting under a ledge. The he started to chase us & diminished again. My friend has multiple cut from things being thrown at her. She was tripped   many times on the way out. We also saw Bloody Mary there. If you are looking for evil sprites, that's one place you should go. But bear our warning. Please... Submitted by Joey Schwab In our new apartment on john street in whiting there is a huge black shadow we beleive from what we distinguish of it that it is an elderly woman she watches us when we are not paying attention to her but when we look at her she stares back then disappears she is not scary we think of her as our angel. Many ghost stories have been disclosed by the local residents. People who have never spent a night in this municipality will laugh and say it's superstition, but not everyone of the natives of Whiting are still alive. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. A lady with an axe sticking out of her head appeared swimming at Calumet Park Beach in the early morning hours. When seen the ghost approached the bystander who then fled. The armor of a medieval knight devoid of a person inside showed up howling at Calumet Harbor at the stroke of midnight. There are many tales regarding this ghost in the vicinity. One thing is for guaranteed, this is an unfriendly spirit that is better not disturbed. A partially see-through guy clad as the skipper of a oil tanker was observed staring surrounded by the towering trees of Burnham Woods. Other folks in close proximity have had similar incidents involving a quite similar ghost. Several of the folks here assert this phantom is the struggling spirit of a long gone Whiting resident. A large scary ghost was observed throwing bricks into the flowing water at Calumet River late at night. This ghost is fantastically active in this area; there have been one or two other sightings of this particular ghost. It has been argued that this specific ghost is the ghost of a traveler that was killed while passing through Whiting long ago. Whichever way, it's a frightening spirit that you don't want to run into very late at night. The ghost of a chained up man has often been distinguished trying on shoes in a Whiting home. According to the local residents, this phantom is that of a resident who existed here in Whiting a long time ago. The phantom of a hobo is often noticed contemplating in Clarke Point Shoal in the early morning hours before sunrise. The ghost of an old witch may frequently be perceived terrifying folks at the water at Clarks Point. Based on what the local residents assert, this ghost enjoys startling people who are courageous enough to upset the serenity in Whiting. A female's body having a pig's head has once in a while been noticed struggling out from a storm drain on a Whiting road at midnight. Loads of locals declare this ghost gets pleasure from terrifying foolish people who come trying to find ghosts in Whiting. A partly rotten human dead body is every now and then witnessed dragging a dead body across the ground in Beaubien Forest Preserve around midnight.
