I've never seen ghost, but I have heard them, two little girls specifically singing old church folk music, and my friend also heard it.

One Friday night in late September back in 1983 I was a freshman at Lee Co. High School, and the fair was in town for the weekend. My friend Johnny and I were staying the night with another Friend, David who lived back in Lower Creek. He lived closest to town, and it was a rare chance that we all three got to hang out together since Johnny lived way out in Leeco.

We left the fair around 11:00 pm, and we got to the shortcut to David's house which was the old spare rail road tracks that split off the from the newer rail tracks just behind the court house where they sometimes stored extra coal cars that led to the old train bridge that you had to drive under to get to Lower Creek. That was the short cut to David's house.

Well as we got going down the old tracks, and it was getting darker in the woods, David stopped and yelled out ''boys did you see that?'' Both Johnny and I were looking down at the uneven tracks to keep from tripping and had not seen what David saw, and we said ''see what?'' David said he had seen a man glowing on the tracks with no head. We laughed, but he said he wasn't going down those tracks, and he had a terrified look on his face, so I told him we would take the long way through town on Main Street and towards Slab Town.

We turned down the gravel road that went into Lower Creek that went under the old train bridge near where the car wash is now and walked to his house. David lived with his grandma, and she had a late dinner waiting on us when we got there. We ate and were sitting on the porch. A police car drove up the road and pulled in across the street. A cop got out and let out Donnie from the back seat. Donnie and his brother Herschel were friends that lived across from David. Donnie went into the house, and the cop left. A few minutes later his older brother Herschel who was a year older and on the varsity Basketball team, came walking home with some other guys that were on the team.

We asked Herschel what happened to Donnie. He said ''boys you won't believe what we saw walking home on the shortcut home, a man glowing on the tracks with no head, and Donnie was so scared he had the cops take him home. '' We knew they weren't joking. They were still at the fair when we left so we knew they weren't playing a joke on us. About that time David's grandma, who lived there most of her life, had overheard us and came out. She said a lot of people over the years had seen a man glowing on those tracks with no head, and word was that two men were drinking up there a long time ago and were fighting over a bottle of liquor. As a train was going by, one of them had fallen and was decapitated as a train rolled by.
