All lies about Maple Groove Cemetery. The only souls stirring about in there at night are alive! The only spirits I ever saw in there at night was the bourbon or gin I drank while hanging out at the grave of Jereboam and Anna B. as well as many other in the old and new sections, or maybe I am so evil that ghost would not dare cross me. I always tell'em I'm among the living! Follow me or die. Submitted by Maple

I wholeheartedly believe that Maple Grove Cemetery is haunted! The first experience I had at the cemetery was back in the summer of 2009. I had walked into town with my best friend. We walked around the older area of the cemetery checking out the dilapidated old headstones. It was the middle of the day and the only sound we could hear from the back of the cemetery was cars passing and the sound of wind coming from the road.

All of a sudden we started hearing what sounded like 20's music coming from seemingly nowhere. We chalked it up to being from the house across the street, although if it was loud where we were standing from the back of the cemetery, it had to be extraordinarily loud in town. The music stopped ten minutes later or so. We stayed by the flag pole and discussed the tale of Anna, the woman who committed suicide and was buried with her husband, a 20's model car came pulling up the hill. The windows where rolled up and we could not see the driver inside the car. When the car reached the back of the cemetery by the cornfield, it faded away and disappeared. We watched it fade into air, with no explanation. We quickly left the cemetery with the hairs on our arms standing.
For about a year I did not dare return to the graveyard. Especially not alone. But in April of 2011, my curiosity got the best of me. I went a few times with a few friends during the day and nothing happened. I thought maybe it was a figment of my imagination and I stored the curiosity away. One evening the same month my boyfriend and I were at my friend's house, who lived only minutes away from the graveyard. We were waiting to go out to Louisville and my friend mentioned wanting to get a shower and do her hair before we left. We agreed to wait and told her we wanted to take a walk while we waited.
We walked aimlessly and ended up at Maple Grove. Near the church next to Maple Grove there is a large tree that overlooks the cemetery. We decided to sit under the tree and watch the sunset. If you know Maple Grove, you know that on the side where the older headstones are there are two large family graves sectioned off by iron fences and huge family stones in the center. The fences are rather rusty and you are able to open the gates for they do not lock, however they are usually pushed close. You'll also know that Anna and her husband's grave is in between the two grave sites.
