A number of of the folks who live in this town allege this ghost is that of a local resident who dwelled here in Cawood a long time ago.
The spirit of a badly mangled huntsman pulling a dead wolf emerged around midnight studying Brierfield Gap in detail. This is one of those ghosts that is spotted over and over again in the neighborhood.

was made out drifting by on Abner Branch at midnight. The ghost did not mind that there was somebody else present.
A man devoid of a head was observed near Beech Spring very late at night going berserk. When the observer appeared the ghost fled.
An exceptionally scary ghost has repeatedly been made out flying over the Cumberland Mountain on a dark night. It has been alleged that this exact ghost loves scaring foolish people who come searching for ghosts in Cawood.
