In 1947 right after the war I was a young teenager living with my father on 8th Avenue. We lived in the 4th or 5th house on the side facing the Officers Club. One day late in September an army truck filled with trainees lost control and crashed into a tree behind our house on 7th Avenue. The truck burst into flames, and all the trainees inside burned up. I think ten or twelve died in the crash. I remember the smell. The MPs and a bunch of officers came, and the entire event was covered up. They buried all the dead in the post cemetery.
Every couple nights around 2 or 3 am I would smell that smell, and there would be sounds of screaming in the basement. A couple of times I would have to go in the basement at night, and I would see a small glowing ball of light fly by my head and smell that smell. It was usually after midnight. Then two days before Christmas we saw the burned men reflected in the back windows late at night, and we could almost hear them screaming. My father moved us out of the house and rented an apartment in Elizabethtown. I never returned to Fort Knox after that year. I hope those houses are torn down. Also to this day I can't find anything in any paper about the crash and horrible deaths of those men.

I have multiple stories from when I lived in south Dietz. I lived on Estrada. I heard scratching on my walls, stomping of people running upstairs (as if kids were playing. ) My mom would hear whispering of women. She once thought she had seen somebody in the shower while she was looking in the mirror doing her make-up. When she turned around nobody was there.
I woke up one day in the middle of the night. I needed some water, so that was what woke me before I could even make a second move. The moment I opened my eyes I looked down at the foot and my bed. I saw a misty figure of a girl with short blonde hair. She had on a school uniform that was ripped up, and she just stared at me with her head tilted. I squinted to try and figure out if what I was seeing was real or if I was tripping. I started to cry, and I was frozen in fear. (I chose not to move, but I could move if I wanted to. ) Anyway, the figure slowly started to fade as it moved away in to my closet.
I ended up crying myself to sleep that night. I slept with my mom for 3 weeks after. Another time I woke up again for some water. I usually liked to sleep with the blinds open. I like how the moon light looked as it shined through my window. So even though it was dark it was still light enough to see everything in my room. Anyway, when I woke up I heard what sounded like bones braking. It was a crackling sound. I again froze and looked around my room to see what the noise was. I looked up at the corner of the wall above my head and saw a dark figure of what looked to be a person balled up at the corner of my wall. I put the blankets over my head waited a few minutes. Then I looked again, and the shadow was gone.
